HISTORY

Marlu Indigenous, founded by esteemed Indigenous Licensed Builder Shane Royce Clark in Newcastle, New South Wales, stands as a symbol of exceptional craftsmanship and dedication. With over four decades of experience, Shane, after earning his Builders License in 1983, fostered a reputation for unparalleled quality and unwavering integrity. His legacy includes not only iconic projects in Newcastle like Civic Theatre and City Hall Refurbishments but also extensive work in Aboriginal Housing and Missions throughout New South Wales, enriching Indigenous communities.

Marlu Indigenous operates as a premier commercial and residential construction company spanning Sydney, Hobart, and Perth. Driven by a deep respect for Indigenous heritage, Marlu Indigenous embodies inclusivity, transparency, and a commitment to empowering Indigenous people. Through collaborations with the New South Wales Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, Supply Nation, and government entities, Marlu Indigenous delivers exceptional construction projects and fosters growth in small Indigenous businesses.

The name "Marlu," meaning Kangaroo in Aboriginal language, encapsulates the spirit of Australia, echoing Shane's heartfelt connection to his work.

At Marlu Indigenous we prioritise training and employing Indigenous people, striving to enhance their lives. Shane has empowered countless Indigenous youth and ensured their meaningful integration into the construction industry. This dedication to training indigenous youth has extended to his own family, with his son Beau Clark becoming a Project Manager at Marlu Indigenous, bringing 14 years of construction expertise.

In recent years, Marlu Indigenous expanded its horizons, undertaking transformative projects in Western Australia and Tasmania. This growth is underpinned by a robust foundation rooted in Indigenous values, supported by organizations like NSWICC and Supply Nation. With an unyielding focus on bettering the lives of Indigenous people, Marlu Indigenous continues its journey, leaving an indelible mark on the construction industry and the communities it serves
